Semicon City Dholera SIR
The Semiconductor Policy 2022–2027 was made public by the government of Gujarat. Its goal is to help industries in Gujarat make semiconductors and displays. The Semiconductor Policy 2022-27 is thought to help Dholera Smart City the most. Semicon City will be built in Dholera as part of the Gujarat Semiconductor Policy 2022–2027.
Under this policy, eligible projects will get a 75% subsidy on the first 200 acres of land they buy, and a 50% subsidy on any additional land they need for fab projects, upstream/downstream projects, and other ISM-approved projects.

Shri Dilip Brahmbhatt, General Manager of Commercial, Corporate, and Human Resources at Dholera Industrial City Development Ltd (DICDL), said that the state government’s announcement of a semiconductor policy will bring semiconductor industries to Dholera and create a lot of new jobs. He also said that Dholera’s infrastructure and connections will make it a national center for the semiconductor industry.
Shri Brahmbhatt stated that an additional 50% capital subsidy will be provided for the establishment of a desalination plant during the first five years of the Dholera semiconductor project. The project will make sure that water is always available and of good quality.
Smart grid connectivity will make it easier to set up semiconductor projects in Dholera by giving them access to more than one source of power. Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CTP) and Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities will also be part of the project (TSDF).
Under the Semiconductor Policy, all eligible projects will get good-quality water for Rs. 12 per cubic metre for the first five years. After that, the water rates will go up by 10% every year for the next five years.
A power tariff subsidy of Rs. 2 per unit has been given to eligible projects, and all eligible projects can be exempt from paying electricity charges for 10 years from the start of production, as stated in the Gujarat Electricity Duty Act of 1958.
This policy says that eligible projects can get a one-time refund of 100% of the stamp duty and registration fees they paid to the government when they leased, sold, or transferred land for a project.
Similar to the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), which is run by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the Gujarat State Electronics Mission (GSEM) has been set up in Gujarat as a nodal agency (Meity).
Mission Semiconductor’s GSEM will work as a single window clearance system for all necessary regulatory approvals in a way that is fast, proactive, and clear for investors.
Shri Brahmbhatt also said that “Dholera Sir” is excited to welcome Semiconductor Industries and Investors to Semicon City because of the Semiconductor Policy 2022–2027. He has asked entrepreneurs and new businesses from all over the world to move to Semicon City.

About Dholera Smart City
The Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) is a planned greenfield industrial hub that will be about 100 km south of Ahmedabad and 130 km from the state capital, Gandhinagar. As planned, the project will be the first effort by the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) to create a linear zone of industrial clusters and nodes to be built in the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor’s influence area (DFC).
The plan for DSIR covers a large area of land that is about 920 sq km and includes 22 villages in the Dholera taluka of the Ahmedabad district. This will be by far the biggest of the planned investment hubs along the DFC’s influence in the DMIC region.
This node is in a good spot because it is between the industrial cities of Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, and Bhavnagar. The closest international airport is in Ahmedabad, and the Government of Gujarat, through the Dholera International Airport Company Limited (DIACL), wants to build another international airport in the north-east of the proposed investment region.
With the help of DSIRDA, NICDC Limited wants to build a new city that is both economically and socially balanced, with world-class infrastructure, the highest quality of life standards, and sustainability in the urban form. The goal of this modern city is to have a transportation system that works well and is sustainable. It also wants to have good connections with nearby cities and the rest of the country.
